Organic Winery in the Heart of Moravia
Family-Owned Winery in Moravia Region
Jaroslav Springer Winery is a cherished family-owned establishment located in Boretice, Moravia. The Čtvrtě vineyard, known for its south-facing slopes, is among the finest wine-growing areas in the Czech Republic. Nestled between the villages of Boretice and Vrbice at an altitude of 190-220 meters, the vineyard benefits from loamy soil enriched with windblown loess layers. This unique microclimate provides ideal conditions for cultivating premium varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across 4 hectares.
Historic Záhebenské Vineyard Route
The Záhebenské vineyard, situated between Boretice and Kobyl, boasts a rich history as one of the oldest vineyard routes, dating back to 1621. The distinctive character of the wines produced here is attributed to the specific soil and climatic conditions. Located at an elevation of 190 meters, the vineyard features clay-sandy loess soil underpinned by sandstone and limestone. With 2.5 hectares dedicated to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this vineyard consistently yields exceptional wines.
About the Moravia Wine Region
Moravia is the heart of Czech wine production, accounting for 90-95% of the country's wines. This southeastern region, bordering Austria, experiences a "transient" climate, primarily continental but occasionally influenced by maritime conditions from the Atlantic. The landscape is dotted with lakes, and vineyards thrive on gentle slopes. Positioned on the 49th parallel, Moravia shares a similar latitude with renowned wine regions like Alsace, Burgundy, and Champagne, making it a significant area for wine enthusiasts.
