From Barrel Workshop to Renowned Vermouth Producer

Founded in 1890 as a barrel factory, La Canellese has a rich history in wine production. In 1947, Francesco and Rosa Sconfienza crafted their first home vermouth, which quickly gained popularity among locals. Rosa passed down her recipe to her three sons, leading to the transformation of the barrel factory into a leading vermouth manufacturer. Today, the winery is managed by Alfredo, Bruna, and Lucia Sconfienza, the great-grandchildren of Rosa. In 2009, they established new headquarters in Calamandrana, focusing on energy efficiency.

Award-Winning Wines from Piedmont

Between 2001 and 2019, La Canellese has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) and BRC (British Retail Consortium) certifications for its locally produced wines. The winery cultivates a variety of grapes, including Cortese and Nebbiolo, alongside fruits and medicinal herbs. Notable offerings include richly flavored wines, dessert wines, and fortified wines bearing the Piemonte DOC label.
