Snuggled the outer edge of Langhe and Monferrato, La Canellese resides in the UNESCO Heritage Site of Piedmont, surrounded by an unspeakable panorama. The winery is recognized as an excellent producer of vermouth, aperitifs, and liqueur, along with aromatic wines. With great passion and love for winemaking, the Sconfienza family delivers its products on both national and international fronts.
Barrel Workshop Transformed Into a Leading Vermouth Manufacturer
Started its business as a barrel factory in 1890, the Sconfienza family has long roots attached to the wine production vocation. In 1947, Francesco and Rosa, the artisan coopers, experimentally gave birth to home vermouth that later became famous among local people. Rosa taught the recipe to her three sons, and soon, the barrel factory turned into a leading vermouth manufacturer. Today, Alfredo, Bruna and Lucia Sconfienza, great-grandchildren of Rosa, manages the winery. In 2009, new headquarters in Calamandrana were established to promote energy saving.
