La Viarte, Winemaking in Beautiful Friuli
La Viarte Winery was established in 1973 in the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC region, between the municipalities of Corno di Rosazzo and Prepotto. Their winery expands over an area of 34 hectares and two-thirds of this land is dedicated to growing vines.
Experience International as well as Rare Grape Varieties at La Viarte
La Viarte grows a wide variety of local and international grapes in their vineyard. Some of the important heirloom varieties like Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Schioppettino di Prepotto, Pignolo, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and the rare Tazzelenghe are the focus of the winery. International grape varieties Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also grown.
Liende – a Wine Legend made from the Oldest Varieties
La Viarte’s wine assortment list includes red, white and rosé wines. Most of their wines are designated Friuli Colli Orientali DOC and Venezia Giulia IGT. In addition, they also produce sparkling and dessert wines. During the best vintages, La Viarte presents two special wines, called Friulano Liende and Sauvignon Liende. ‘Liende’ means legend and these wines are made from their oldest varieties. The La Viarte Winery has adopted an environmentally friendly approach to vineyard management and winemaking. Drastically reducing the use of pesticides and fertilizers in the fields, La Viarte carefully controls and monitors the process ensuring the production of high-quality wines with minimal environmental impact.
