A Friulian Winery Rooted in Tradition and Quality
Passion for Winemaking
Le Due Torri is nestled in the picturesque hills of Friuli, bordered by the Collio Hills to the north and the Judrio River to the south. Since 1971, the Volpe family has dedicated themselves to crafting exceptional wines, prioritizing quality above all else. With an annual production of just 1,500 bottles, this winery specializes in Tazzelenghe, a rare grape variety known for its high acidity and robust tannins.
The estate spans 8 hectares, with 4 acres dedicated to Tazzelenghe.
Celebrating Friuli's Winemaking Heritage
Tazzelenghe is aged in cherrywood barrels for about two years, followed by an additional year in bottles. This process enhances the wine's fruitiness and cherry notes while ensuring well-rounded tannins. The winery emphasizes research and modern oenological techniques, allowing their wines to showcase their full potential while minimizing the use of external additives, resulting in healthier wines that reflect their true character.
Unique Varietals at Le Due Torri
Le Due Torri produces small batches of distinctive wines from the finest grapes. The estate believes that old vines and high-quality grapes are essential for creating remarkable wines. Cultivating biodiversity between the Grave and the eastern hills, they grow sixteen varieties of Vitis vinifera, including seven indigenous varieties. Every step, from grape harvesting to winemaking, is performed with care and attention to detail.
