Marchesi di Gresy has four properties in the region
Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy has been owned by the di Grésy family since 1797. The estate area includes four properties located in the Langhe and Monferrato, namely: Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra, and Monte Colombo, home to Piedmont’s most outstanding wines. The Martinenga vineyard is one of the Langhe’s finest vineyards and the largest single owned “monopole” in the region. It has been family-owned by the di Grésy’s since 1797.
Martinenga is the best single-vineyard in the region
Martinenga is known for producing some of the finest cru-designated Barbareschio’s. It is planted with the Nebbiolo sub-varieties Lampia, Rosé, and Michet, sub-varieties whose mix produces the most elegant Nebbiolo wines. The grapes from all four estates are vinified in Martinenga that also has a beautiful natural amphitheater in the heart of Barbaresco DOCG. There is a lot of respect for tradition and nature in the vineyards.
The winery is committed to sustainbility
Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Sauvignon, Barbera, Merlot, Moscato, and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown and used to make red, white, and sparkling wines. The company is committed to sustainability and houses a Hypogean Barrique Cellar, which has been built underground. Part of the roof and car parking has solar panels to generate energy for the winery. On the terrace and around the winery, there is an aromatic garden that preserves the biodiversity and offers a beautiful place to sit and drink wine. Martinenga also has the only experimental vineyard of the Barbaresco region.
