Maroteira Vinhos

The Winery Maroteira Vinhos, established in 2017, is situated in the industrial hub of Redondo, Portugal. Spanning over 2000 m², our winery utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest quality in wine production. We combine rigorous viticulture standards with the expertise of our team and the careful selection of French and American oak barrels, allowing us to craft exceptional wines year after year. The Vineyards At Herdade da Maroteira, our vineyards cover 22 hectares and feature four red grape varieties: Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, and Aragonez. We practice sustainable dry farming, with all vineyard activities performed manually. Each September, we harvest the grapes overnight to ensure optimal freshness. Additionally, we manage 45 hectares of rented vineyards across Alentejo, where we source white grapes and some red varieties for our “Dez Tostões” wines, ensuring consistent quality and character. Our Wines Our vineyards thrive in calcareous clay soil, producing a range of wines from our red grape varieties. We offer three distinct red wines: – Mil Reis Syrah (100% Syrah) – Cem Reis Syrah (100% Syrah) – Dez Tostões Red (Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, and Syrah) Additionally, we produce the Senhor Doutor wine from vineyards in Evoramonte, where our viticulturist Philip Mollet has crafted a Touriga Nacional monovarietal and a unique white blend featuring Antão Vaz, Arinto, Verdelho, and Roupeiro. Our grapes are handpicked at night in small 20kg boxes, ensuring they arrive at the winery in perfect condition for our oenology team to transform them into remarkable wines.
