Mauro Veglio Winery: A Boutique Gem in Barolo

Located in the picturesque Barolo countryside, Mauro Veglio Winery is nestled in the renowned Piedmont wine region. The estate spans 19 hectares of vineyards across three prime areas: La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, and Barolo, all embraced by the stunning Langhe hills. The winery is set in a quaint hamlet called Località Annunziata, just a short drive from the charming town of La Morra, offering breathtaking views and serene gardens.

A Legacy of Winemaking Since the 1900s

The Veglio family has been dedicated to agriculture for nearly 150 years, with roots in winemaking dating back to the early 1900s in the small village of Ciotto. Initially cultivating vines, vegetables, and fruits, the family expanded their vineyard holdings in the 1960s when Angelo Veglio acquired a new vineyard in Gattera. In 1986, his son Mauro further developed the winery by purchasing additional land and renovating the cellar. The family’s legacy continued with Mauro’s nephew Alessandro joining the business in 2017, bringing fresh ideas and innovative winemaking techniques to enhance their wine quality.

Exceptional Wines from Piedmont

Today, Mauro Veglio Winery produces around 120,000 bottles of wine annually, showcasing four prestigious Barolo crus: Arborina, Gattera, Rocche dell’Annunziata, and Castelletto. The estate also cultivates popular red varietals such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto d’Alba. Alessandro’s dedication to quality is evident in every bottle, making their wines a true reflection of the region’s rich terroir.

For a unique experience, stay at The Cascina, a traditional farmhouse managed by Alessandro’s mother, Franca. The accommodation features five comfortable rooms and a communal kitchen, perfect for enjoying local delicacies.
