Burgundy’s Olivier Leflaive Freres
Olivier Leflaive Frères wine estate and merchant is in the heart of the Burgundy winegrowing region. The philosophy of Olivier Leflaive is to produce simply great wines. There are no secrets to this – everything starts in the vines with good grapes. Olivier, Franck, and their team are lucky to have strong relationships with some of the best winegrowers on the Côte, people who grow their vines with care and attention. In a similar way, Olivier has continued to expand his estate since its creation.
Beautiful vineyards around the estate
The company has been making great wines since the 1970s when air conditioning arrived at the place. Vineyards are spread over 17 hectares of land that are carefully acquired over the years and managed properly with love and care. The time of harvesting vines comes after almost one year. Around 100 students, members of the family, and some seasonal workers gather for two weeks to complete harvesting manually. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the main varietals grown here.
The winery and its products
The best grapes are handpicked and brought to the cellar for fermentation and production of wines. Red, white, and sparkling Puligny-Montrachet wines are the main products here. Free run grape juice is blended and transferred to French oak barrels. After the ageing process, wines are bottled for sale. Red and white wines have a different process for vinification. There is a 17th-century hotel near the estate where one can stay for a vacation and enjoy the beauty of the place with amazing wine and champagne.
