A Winery That Carries Forward Essence of its Lands

Our is a family farm located in Prepotto, on the border with Slovenia, one of the most renowned grape-growing areas of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where winemaking goes back centuries. Our vineyards drape the hill of Prepotto, area where a particular microclimate, with a sunny position and the soil composed of a mixture of sandstone and clays and silt create the perfect environment for quality wines. The 11 hectares of vineyard, that we grow, are planted with an arrangement giving a low output per hectare. The wine cellar is composed of two connected bodies, a wine cellar of new construction with all the most modern equipments for the production of white wines and an old building renoveted with a large tasting-room and the barrique-area where we aged our most important red wines.

Delicate Wines

Our philosophy of production is a fusion of technology and tradition, yielding a great quality wine obtained thanks to the proper use of modern vinification procedures combined with the use of the barrique (a French oak barrel of 225 liters) and tonneaux (a French oak barrel of 500 liters) were our most important wines age for 24 months like Refosco dal p.r. and Schioppettino. We produce 50% white wines and 50% red wines. The white wines we produce are Friulano, Pinot grigio, Pinot Bianco Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon. These wines are worked only instill. The white wines are pressed without skin and seeds and after put in a steel tank with our yeast for 8 months. After the wines are decanted and bottled in May. The red wines we produce are Merlot and Cabernet Franc worked only in steel like the white wines. After we produce the Pinot Nero. This is a particularly fruity wine and it is aged in oak barrel for 12 mounths. The other red wines we produce are Schioppettino and Refosco aged in oak for 24 mounths.
