An Italian Winery Run by German Family
Rio del Lupo is a fully farmed wine estate in the Ronconuovo wine region, surrounded by the stunning countryside of Loazzolo, dedicated to craft high-quality wines from well-known Piedmont grape varieties. The winery consists of a beautiful farmstay with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, equipped with the latest technologies, bordered by picturesque vineyards and woods.
Rio del Lupo is a Result of Combined Efforts of the Family
The winemaking family at Rio del Lupo has taken viticulture and wine production to another level. Initially, only one house of the old structure was habitable, which later was renovated turned into a more spacious and comfortable space. Furthermore, former stables were converted into a Mediterranean-styled, two-story farmhouse. Later, the rest of the building was entirely refurbished into three contemporary apartments, keeping Piedmont’s architectural culture alive. Today’s building is equipped with modern amenities for visitors, such as fancy bathhouses with sauna and Jacuzzi, open in all seasons.
Not Organic Certified but Follows Biodynamic Practices in the Vineyards
The company owns around 15 hectares of fertile, arable land, out of which five hectares are dedicated to viticulture, and the remaining is covered with forests and deep ravines. In the beginning, the family was more focused on Bracchetto and Moscato, which later was accompanied by Dolcetto. However, in 2007, the owners decided to introduce two new varieties into the vineyards, namely Arneis and Nebbiolo. Today, they produce top-quality DOC wines, including red and white.
