Producing Organic Wines Since 1987

Surrounded by beautiful orchards, olives groves, and vegetable gardens, the Rovero Winery is located in the Asti wine region of Monferrato, Italy. It covers a total area of 25 hectares, out of which 20 hectares are for the cultivation of grapes. Since 1987, the estate delivers organic wines certified by the Institute for Certification concerning Ethics and Environment (ICEA).

The Tradition That Has Its Origin to 19th Century

Started in a small chapel that was built in 1880, the Rovero family has a long winemaking history, filled with traditions of the 19th century. In a large courtyard, there exists a distillery, a grappa ageing cellar, and an ancient peasant house. Opposite the vineyards, surrounded by picturesque beauty, a wine cellar is located where conventional and modern methods are used combinedly for wine production. Today, three brothers Franco, Claudio, and Michelino, along with son Enrico, follow and expand the Rovero family’s winemaking practices.

Giving Back to Earth

Organic viticulture is the base of the company’s high-quality wines. For many years, the Rovero family has been using bio methods in the vineyards to cultivate various grape types. It includes rich-quality Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Grignolino, along with excellent Sauvignon Bianco, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Following the manual harvesting technique, the best bunches are distilled and processed in the cellar. Some single-variety grappas of exceptional finesse, along with tasting red, white, and sparkling wines are produced and traded under DOC and DOCG labels.

Have a cozy and relaxing stay at Il Milin, a company-owned farmstead, equipped with rooms and apartments with bed and breakfast for guests. It is a well-furnished agriturismo farmhouse laced with modern facilities, such as a kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace, TVs, and much more. A restaurant within the building where tourists can taste grappas and wines and know the philosophy behind Rovero’s production line.
