One of the most beautiful wineries in Australia
Rusty Fig Wines is considered by many as one of the most beautifully located wine farms in Australia. The name Rusty Fig comes from the native Australian Rusty Fig tree, also known as the Port Jackson, who grows on the mountain slopes surrounding the vineyards. The Rusty Fig Winery was established in 2002 and is completely family owned and operated. The vineyard covers a total area of 4 acres and despite its small size, more than 800 cases of wine are produced each year.
Rusty Fig Winery: processing only high-quality grapes
The goal at Rusty Fig Wines is to produce only the highest quality grapes and to achieve this, all grapes are hand-picked. Throughout the grape growing season, substantial fruit thinning is done to avoid over cropping and to ensure that there is the perfect balance between the flavour of the fruit and the yield.
The Rusty Fig winery is located alongside the sea at Bermagui and because of this, the wines have the typical characteristics of those produced in cooler climates
Experience the unique character within a nice wine tasting
The wines are dry, crisp and have subtle flavours of citrus and nuts. The red wines display a distinct taste of berries. The cooler climate of the winery means that the wines have a high acidity and can therefore age well, developing a wonderful richness over time. Rusty Fig wines that should not be missed by all wine lovers are the Tempranillo 2015, the Verdelho 2018, the Rose 2017, the Natural Sparkling 2018 and the Savagnin 2018. These wines can be found in stockists across the globe and online from the Rusty Fig Wines website.
