Scagliola Giacomo in the Hills of Monferrato and Langhe
The Scagliola Giacomo and Figlio winery is located between the rolling hills of Langhe and Monferrato, in the middle of the vineyard landscapes that, since June 2014, were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Giacomo Scagliola grew up in a historic family of wine producers in Calosso (Asti), and, from his father Camillo, he inherited the strong passion for the production of high-quality wines starting from the processes of cultivation and selection of the grapes.
Passion and Love for making Quality Wines
In 1951, Giacomo moved with his family to Canelli, at Cascina La Faia, on the hill of Santa Libera, one of the best areas for the production of Moscato d’Asti. Here, Giacomo devoted himself to replanting part of the vineyards and building a new cellar. Nowadays, the winery has 15 hectares of vineyards, and every single activity – from the cultivation and selection of grapes to the final product – is managed by the family, in particular Alessandro and his son Flavio Giacomo.
Great Winery with Panoramic Surroundings
The company grows Moscato Bianco, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Barbera, and Nebbiolo for red, white, rose, and dessert wines. Apart from Moscato d’Asti and Barbera d’Asti, they produce Monferrato DOC and Langhe DOC wines also. The splendid and gentle hills of Langhe and Monferrato are one of the strengths of the winery, and they can be admired from the large terrace that surrounds the company. From here, you can enjoy unparalleled views all year.
