A Family-Owned Winery in Piedmont’s UNESCO Heritage Region
Scagliola Giacomo in the Hills of Monferrato and Langhe
Scagliola Giacomo & Figlio is nestled in the picturesque hills of Langhe and Monferrato, a region recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 2014. Giacomo Scagliola, raised in a family of wine producers in Calosso (Asti), inherited a deep passion for crafting exceptional wines from his father, Camillo. This dedication to quality begins with meticulous grape cultivation and selection.
A Legacy of Quality Winemaking
In 1951, Giacomo relocated his family to Canelli, specifically to Cascina La Faia on the Santa Libera hill, renowned for its ideal conditions for Moscato d’Asti. Here, he focused on replanting vineyards and constructing a new cellar. Today, the winery spans 15 hectares, with every aspect of production overseen by the family, particularly Alessandro and his son Flavio Giacomo.
Scenic Views and Diverse Wines
The winery cultivates a variety of grapes, including Moscato Bianco, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Barbera, and Nebbiolo, producing red, white, rosé, and dessert wines. In addition to Moscato d’Asti and Barbera d’Asti, they also create Monferrato DOC and Langhe DOC wines. The stunning hills of Langhe and Monferrato provide a breathtaking backdrop, best enjoyed from the expansive terrace surrounding the winery, offering spectacular views throughout the year.
