Located just 15 minutes from Mudgee, Skim Stone Wines benefits from a rich and diverse terroir. The vineyard, situated on the ancient Cudgegong riverbed, features a stony ridge that provides excellent drainage and imparts unique minerality to the wines. Here, varietals like Shiraz and Sangiovese thrive, while Barbera, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet also flourish in the region's varied soils and climate. A sandy section of the vineyard promotes rapid soil drying, allowing Sangiovese, the grape used for rosé, to excel despite its less fertile environment.
