The Taschlerhof winery is idyllically situated in the Eisack Valley, near Bressanone. Here, Peter Wachtler, an independent winemaker, works with natural cultivation methods, an experimental winemaking process, and a healthy dose of passion and pride in every wine. The Taschlerhof winery cultivates exclusively four grape varieties and produces around 45,000 bottles annually: Sylvaner, Riesling, Kerner, and Gewürztraminer. These are exclusively white wines, perfectly adapted to the quartz- and silica-rich soils. They are distinguished by their spicy character, longevity, and exotic fruit bouquet, offering a refined taste experience. A true blend of nature and meticulousness, which Peter Wachtler masters entirely independently.

Good wine, they should also speak Italian more willingly, they don't always realize that they are in Italian territory

A wine-growing business as it should be! Peter Wachtler knows how to focus his wines on the essentials: four grape varieties and terroir! After a hike through his steep vineyards in the Isarco Valley, we had the opportunity to taste his wines. Each wine is developed independently, with a clear and elegant character as well as great drinking pleasure when young. We were very lucky to get a few more bottles of his 15 Sylvaners. Aged well in the bottle without being aged.
