Organic Winemaking at Its Finest

The Langhe region is celebrated for its exceptional DOC and DOCG wines, establishing itself as a top destination for wine enthusiasts in Italy. In 2015, Tenuta Barac embraced organic practices, earning the green experience certificate and fully transitioning to organic farming. This commitment to sustainability reflects our dedication to producing high-quality wines that honor the land.

A Rich Heritage in Winemaking

The story of Tenuta Barac began in the 1960s in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, a charming village near Alba. Founders Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia, both from agricultural families, decided to continue their legacy by cultivating the unique terroir of Langhe. Their hard work and passion laid the foundation for a winery that values tradition and quality.

Scenic Vineyards in a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Our vineyards are located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich viticultural history. The hills are adorned with sun-drenched vines and lush forests, showcasing nature's vibrant colors throughout the seasons. Tenuta Barac is perfectly situated in the heart of the Barbaresco hills, surrounded by a picturesque valley where vineyards seamlessly blend with woodlands and greenery. This stunning environment enhances the character of our wines and offers a glimpse into the region's rich flavors and traditions.

A luxurious Sunday! We visited this winery for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the care and cleanliness of the entire estate. Special thanks to Marco, our guide on this trip, who showed us excellent wines. Congratulations also to the young owners (hats off). Samantha and Mateo

Great location, but only recommended if you have your own vehicle. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. Staff is very reliable and courteous. Always available to give tips for restaurants or excursions. The wine tour is informative and can be recommended. Breakfast is plentiful and freshly prepared. Wines from the own cellar are highly recommended. We would be happy to come back.

A wonderful place to unwind. For wine lovers it is an experience worth living. The farmhouse is located in a beautiful area immersed in the Nebbiolo vineyards. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. A visit to the winery and tasting of their wines is highly recommended. I want to go back as soon as possible. Maybe in spring when you can spend more time outdoors. They have an incredible garden!

My wife and I went to Tenuta Barac for a wine tasting and tour. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed. Our host was a young woman, Marta, who was very knowledgeable about the facility, the wine making, and the wine itself. She was also knowledgeable about the different vintages and grapes. Marta was very warm, friendly and personable. She was joined by a young man, I think his name was Alberto (if I’m wrong please forgive me) who was also quite knowledgeable. The whole experience was fun, unhurried, and lots of great wine and a very nice plate of cheeses and meats. Their 2016 riserva Barbaresco is amazing at any price and it’s priced very reasonably. We had six bottles shipped. I went back the next day to see if I could get in and buy a bottle of their Risvera to drink that night. Marta greeted me warmly and even gave a couple more tastes of wine I didn’t have yesterday. My only regret was not being able to stay in one their rooms as the hotel/tasting room is in a very pretty and peaceful setting. I highly recommend this place

We visited based on a recommendation from our host. The venue is charming and well-kept, but unfortunately, the weather was rainy, which limited our ability to fully appreciate the views. The tasting experience itself was enjoyable; however, when we made our reservation a couple of months in advance, we were informed that the cost would be €25 per person. Upon arrival, we were unexpectedly charged €30 per person. It would have been appreciated if we had been notified of the price increase beforehand, allowing us to decide if we still wanted to proceed with the tasting, as €30 per person is slightly higher than typical for the area.
