Tenuta Mainardi, Organic Winery in the Cilento National Park
The story of Tenuta Mainardi started in the 1950s when the owner’s grandfather Giuseppe bought the estate in the Aquara municipality, located in the Cilento National Park. Currently, the company aims to practice organic, sustainable viticulture and make high-quality wines that truly express the quality of the vines that are present in this region for hundreds of years. Visitors are welcome to visit the winery for a 360-degree wine tour that blends the family, territory, and the wines of the area with some delicious seasonal cuisine made by their cook Mamma Rocchina.
Perfect Microclimate for Wine Making
The Aquara is in the Valle del Calore on the Alburni mountain slopes. The region has always seen the cultivation of olive groves, vines, figs, and wheat. The microclimate, rich soil, and hard work of the people make the Aquara fall in Colli di Salerno, IGP Paesum, and Casten San Lorenzo DOP. The soil is mixed clayey with limestone, and the Mediterranean climate features warm summers and rainy temperatures. Aglianico, Moscato, Aglianicone, Fiano, and Barbera are the typical grape varietals grown here.
