Tenuta San Mauro is nestled in the picturesque territory of Castagnole Lanze, perched on a scenic hilltop. This family-owned winery spans 70 hectares, with 40 dedicated to vineyards and 30 reserved for lush grass, trees, and woodlands. The vines are meticulously cared for using the guyot pruning system, ensuring that each bottle reflects the unique character of the land. With a rich history passed down through generations, the winery remains committed to tradition and authenticity in every aspect of its winemaking.
The Bianco family manages not only the San Mauro vineyards but also two additional plots. The San Mauro estate, located in Castagnole Lanze, features a classic nineteenth-century Piedmontese farmhouse surrounded by beautifully arranged vineyards. One of the other plots, Ca’nova, is situated in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Neive, within the renowned Langa territory. This area is celebrated for its exceptional wine quality and diversity. The Vallone farmhouse, located in the hamlet of Piani in Castagnole Lanze, boasts east-facing vineyards that offer stunning views of the Langhe hills and produce the esteemed Barbera d’Asti grape. The sandy, sedimentary soils here are particularly well-suited for red grape cultivation, contributing to the rich flavors of the wines.

We have just participated in a unique experience. A wine tasting in this family winery. Welcomed by the owner Mauro and accompanied by his son. Visit to the winery with an explanation of the origins of the company and the stages of production for the elaboration of its wines. Guided tasting with passion and competence... and also by excellent cutting boards. Congratulations 🥰

What a wonderful experience, Davide was the perfect host, he welcomed questions and was unbelievably knowledgeable. The classic tasting was amazing, 5 wines + aperitivo : €30 pp. we left with a couple of bottles too both very reasonably priced (€12/€16). I would HIGHLY recommend!

What a fabulous tasting! Davide, the owner’s son, was extremely knowledgeable and took his time with our tasting. The platters of nibbles were amazing - made by his mother and using fresh ingredients from their garden. We did their Classic tasting of Chardonnay, Rose’, Barbera di Asti, Barberesco and moscato. We loved all the wine and the hospitality as well as purchased 4 bottles for the rest of our trip. An absolute highlight when near Asti

We had a wonderful wine tasting with Christian in English. He explained everything in detail and answered our questions. We were able to try 6 wines and were served delicious snacks. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun! We were also able to buy wines to take home afterwards. Thank you Christian, it was wonderful! We'd love to come back! :-)
