Tenute Lu Spada is a boutique organic winery founded in 2015 and located right next to the Cillarese Lake and Faunal protected area. Several protected migratory birds are wintering and nesting besides their vineyards. Some of their labels are even named after these birds. Their mission is to revive the ancient terroir traditions by retrieving the native grape varieties and old bush trained wines while preserving the surrounding biodiversity.

Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Organic Winery

It is located around two kilometers away from the Adriatic Sea, and the whole estate is sustainable and eco-friendly dedicated to organic winemaking. The newly constructed main building is dedicated to winemaking, and there is a barrique cellar next to it for the maturation and ageing of wines. On the main street, on the road next to the park, is their building for promotions and wine tasting.

Unique Area and Climate for the vineyards

Many natural conditions in the region make it perfect for the cultivation of vines. The closeness to the sea, protection by the Cillarese Park, unique microclimate, and soil rich in limestone and clay, boosts the growth of high-quality, fruity grapes used to make rich and elegant wines. The estate has almost 29 hectares of vineyards, out of which the Negroamaro grape covers nearly 20 hectares. The other grape varieties that grow here are Primitivo, Susumaniello, Minutolo, Malvasia, and Vermentino. The best grapes are used to make their organic red, white, and rose wines.

Some of their vineyards are over 50 years old, and their organic wines have a great fruity taste, strong complexion, and a rich aroma.
