Founded in 2015, Tenute Lu Spada is a boutique organic winery nestled beside the picturesque Cillarese Lake and the Faunal Protected Area. This unique location is home to various migratory birds that winter and nest near the vineyards, inspiring some of the winery's labels. Tenute Lu Spada is dedicated to reviving ancient terroir traditions by focusing on native grape varieties and traditional bush-trained viticulture while maintaining the region's rich biodiversity.

Situated just two kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, Tenute Lu Spada is committed to sustainable and eco-friendly organic winemaking. The estate features a newly constructed main building for winemaking, complemented by a barrique cellar for aging wines. Additionally, a dedicated space for promotions and wine tastings is conveniently located along the main road adjacent to the park.

Ideal Climate for Quality Grapes

The region's natural conditions create an ideal environment for vine cultivation. Proximity to the sea, protection from the Cillarese Park, a unique microclimate, and limestone-rich clay soil contribute to the growth of high-quality, flavorful grapes. The estate spans nearly 29 hectares, with approximately 20 hectares dedicated to the Negroamaro grape. Other varieties cultivated here include Primitivo, Susumaniello, Minutolo, Malvasia, and Vermentino. The best grapes are selected to produce their organic red, white, and rosé wines.

Some vineyards are over 50 years old, resulting in organic wines that boast a fruity taste, robust character, and rich aroma.

My fiancée and I were tasting wines on the occasion of the Via Appia days. A wonderful place, beautiful surroundings and delicious wine. But perhaps most importantly, they are created by wonderful, friendly people. The lady translated the words of the owner of the winery into English and the owner himself drove us to Brindisi so that we wouldn't have to walk. Such things only happen in the south of Italy. I highly recommend this place!

I discovered their wines last summer in Serranova. A fantastic experience. I had a box of Laenius and a box of Fuoco Rosa sent to me and I will have to order the Susumaniello too. Friendliness, quality, courtesy and availability concentrated in one place. I recommend everyone to pass through these parts.
