A Family Legacy of Winemaking in Piedmont's Langhe Region
A Legacy of Vine Cultivation in UNESCO Heritage Langhe
Tojo Winery is nestled in Santo Stefano Belbo, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This area is celebrated for its rich history of vine cultivation, a tradition that has been lovingly passed down through generations. Our vineyards span approximately 6 hectares, benefiting from ideal south-facing exposure and limestone-clay soils. The unique microclimate here has nurtured grape growing for centuries, allowing us to produce exceptional wines that reflect the terroir.
Generations of Winemaking: A Family Tradition at Tojo
The Tojo family has been dedicated to winemaking since the early 1900s when my great-grandfather founded the winery. Following in the footsteps of my ancestors, Vittorio, Remo, and Vittorio, I, Francesco, joined the family business in 2012 after completing my oenology studies in Alba. In 2022, my sister Delia also became a full-time member of our team. Together, we craft limited quantities of wines each year, showcasing the expertise and tradition of Piedmontese winemaking.
Five Enchanting Love Stories Captured in Our Wines
Each bottle of Tojo wine tells a story. Alma, our Dry Muscat from the Escamotage project, pays homage to the exquisite Muscat grapes, reviving their glory. Melis, our Moscato d’Asti, captures the sweetness of our picturesque hills, inviting you to savor their essence. DeliAnna, a Barbera, is a tribute to my beloved sister, celebrating our deep bond. Farinella, our Favorita, reflects the vibrant spirit of our loyal companion Brigida, infusing every sip with her charm. Lastly, Lo Sfizio, a Passito wine, blends grapes from 2003 and 2016, symbolizing the harmony of experience and innovation shared between my father and me, encapsulated in every drop.
