Turtle Rock Ridge Winery: Located in the Ramona Wine Region

Nestled in the scenic backcountry of San Diego, Turtle Rock Ridge Winery is situated in the picturesque Ramona wine region of California. Surrounded by lush landscapes and charming countryside, the estate offers stunning 360-degree views of its vineyards. Here, the dedication of owners Laurie and Ian shines through as they combine traditional winemaking techniques with the unique terroir and microclimate of the area to produce exceptional wines.

A Dream Realized

Laurie's passion for winemaking began at the age of twelve and blossomed into reality after thirty-eight years of hard work and commitment. After earning a degree in landscaping and nursery management, Laurie initially worked with children in Ramona, but her dream of creating fine wines never faded. In 2007, following the Witch Creek Wildfire, Laurie and Ian took the opportunity to cultivate the charred land with grapevines.

In 2013, Turtle Rock Ridge was honored as the number one winery in California, a testament to their dedication and craftsmanship.

Accommodations and Local Cuisine

At Turtle Rock Ridge, Laurie and Ian grow a diverse selection of grapes, including Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Committed to sustainable practices, most vineyard work is done by hand. After carefully handpicking the grapes, only the finest bunches are selected for processing in the cellar. The winery produces a range of high-quality red, white, and rosé wines, along with delightful dessert, sparkling, and fortified options.

Guests can easily find nearby hotels and restaurants, making it convenient to stay overnight and enjoy the local offerings. Accommodations are well-equipped, and visitors can savor local cuisine paired with wines from Turtle Rock Ridge, enhancing their experience in this beautiful region.

Cute winery in Ramina, CA. They sell red, mixed (red and white), and Sangria flights, as well as bottles and wine by the glass. They also have a few snack, cheese trays and meat and cheese trays. Beautiful view, pleasant staff.

Just moved to Ramona, CA from Washington State. My first visit I tried the sampler and enjoyed the variety. Also purchased the cheese and meat plater, this was yummy. Planning on inviting my friends for an afternoon of music and wine. On Sunday I tried the Red Sangria and Wow that was wonderful! This will be my spot to come drink wine and enjoy the beautiful view.

This is a nice winery with beautiful views of the valley below and big boulders around. They have a large covered patio with many seatings which I've attended a pumpkin decorating even in the past. I thought their wines were ok. A friend tried their sangria flight and liked that so I might have to try that next time I return. The staff has been nice and friendly every time we've been there. They usually have artisans selling their arts and crafts when we come which is nice.
