A Legacy of Winemaking in Friuli-Venezia Giulia
The Butussi Family’s roots are deeply connected to the agricultural traditions of Friuli, spanning four generations.
The estate covers 26 hectares of vineyards, located in areas with distinctly different microclimates. Most of the vineyards are adjacent to forests and streams—natural environments that contribute to the biodiversity and overall balance of the vines themselves.
In 2002, the company began a major restructuring of its vineyards, moving away from conventional farming methods. This transition ultimately led the entire wine production to achieve organic certification.
Throughout this conversion process, the growing harmony between the vineyards and the surrounding environment made it possible to identify unique plots of land—each with distinct character and natural vocation. From these parcels, the estate’s first crus (locally called pečâl in the Friulian language) were born with the 2013–2014 harvests. These wines have since become the flagship of the winery’s production.
