Villa Canthus: A Gem in the Veneto Wine Region

Villa Canthus Winery is located in the historic Palazzo Bortolozzi Marini, an 18th-century Venetian villa nestled in the scenic Lampol loop of the River Piave. This family-owned winery specializes in producing a select range of wines from indigenous grape varieties, all crafted within the prestigious appellations of the Veneto region.

A Legacy of Winemaking

Giuliano Ormenese, the owner of Villa Canthus, began his winemaking journey at just 12 years old, working alongside his father Leo and grandfather Angelo in the fields of Ca ‘Malpiero. In 1970, he started producing small batches of wine in Fossalta, and in 1987, he established Villa Canthus, drawing on years of experience. The winery is known for its exquisite red and white wines, as well as high-quality dessert wines. Today, the Ormenese family continues this legacy, with the third generation actively involved in vineyard and cellar management. The winery is committed to environmental sustainability, cultivating a diverse range of grapes, including Raboso del Piave, Manzoni Bianco, Manzoni Rosso, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside premium varieties like Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Sauvignon, all under the Veneto DOC designation.

Beautiful Surroundings for Every Occasion

Villa Canthus Winery is set within a stunning green park, providing a picturesque backdrop for wine tastings and events. The spacious indoor and outdoor areas are ideal for hosting business meetings, romantic gatherings, celebrations, and more. Whether you are a wine enthusiast or simply looking for a serene escape, Villa Canthus offers a unique experience in the heart of Veneto.

Cellar located in a beautiful Venetian villa. Warm and professional environment and welcome with above average tasting of Venetian wines. I was pleased to discover this place where I will certainly return to replenish my cellar. Well done!

Friendly welcome from Deborah. Anything you want to know is answered. Anything you don't want to know is explained by the father :-). Wine is lived here. Manageable wine selection in the upper price range, but worth the price.

We went to Villa Canthus for a tasting that exceeded all our expectations both for the quality of the wines and for the welcome we received. Deborah is kind, professional and helpful, you can immediately see her love and passion for this job. We tasted the wines, discovering their history and origin. The food pairings were perfect, with a wide choice from oysters to cheeses and cured meats. Taking into account all food preferences and intolerances. We highly recommend this experience and the wines of this excellent winery. Congratulations to Deborah and her dad for what they managed to create and thanks for the welcome.

We were lucky enough to choose Villa Canthus for a tasting which turned out to be a truly beautiful experience! We were welcomed by Deborah who, with her wonderful kindness, accompanied us on a journey full of emotions, among the aromas of her wines and her descriptions full of passion... all accompanied by a great satisfaction of the taste buds. The warm welcoming climate became even more alive with the arrival of Mr. Giuliano who enchanted us with his stories of real life. Congratulations to the Villa Canthus family and thank you! We will definitely be back

I discovered the quality of Villa Canthus wines one evening at a friends house where I tasted an excellent 2019 Manzoni Rosso and a 2015 Refosco. Excellent wines, chosen by connoisseurs. More than satisfied with the 'tasting' I asked for the name and address of the winery. A few days later I went to visit by appointment. What can I say, an almost magical place. The entrance and the driveway leave you speechless, then you arrive at the cellar, located in a wonderful Villa... really beautiful! I took various white and red wines of different vintages. The price is more than fair. After a few weeks, after having tried them all now, I can say that they are really excellent. Congratulations to Deborah for her passion and to her father, a great connoisseur full of love for his work. What can I say... Deborah, I'll see you soon to fill up my cellar 😄

Excellent cellar with excellent wines with tasting beyond expectations both in terms of quality and hospitality. The villa and the location both outside and in the tasting room are beautiful, an experience that goes beyond oenology through culture and the love that these people put into the work they do and from this passion an excellent wine can only be born Compliments
