Villa Canthus, In the Heart of Veneto Wine Region
The headquarters of the Villa Canthus Winery is in Palazzo Bortolozzi Marini – an 18th-century Venetian villa, situated in the Lampol loop of the River Piave. It is a family-run farm that produces and bottles a small range of wines from native vines made within the finest appellations of Veneto region.
Working in the Winery Since Childhood
Giuliano Ormenese owns the Villa Canthus Winery. At the tender age of 12, Giuliano started working in the fields in Ca ‘Malpiero with his father – Leo, and grandfather – Angelo. Later in 1970, he started producing small wines in Fossalta and finally in 1987, with all the gathered experience, they found the Villa Canthus winery. At the villa, the owner of Villa Canthus produces luscious wines, including high-quality red and white wines, combined with rich-quality dessert wines. Today, the third generation of the Ormenese Family is handling all the work in the cellar and vineyards. With great respect for the environment and biodiversity, the owner cultivates a vast range of grapes. He grows Raboso del Piave, Manzoni Bianco, Manzoni Rosso, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards also house top-notch Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Refosco Peduncolo Rosso, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Friulano, and Ribolla Gialla, all under the Veneto DOC status.
