The Fattoria Nicolucci di Nicolucci Alessandro winery has been crafting exceptional wines in Predappio Alta, a region rich in historical significance for Romagna viticulture, since 1885. The local economy has long been rooted in Sangiovese production, with vineyards cultivated by dedicated winemakers since the year 1000, as noted in the municipal statutes of the time.

Hills Adorned with Ancient Vines

As a family-run winery, Fattoria Nicolucci embodies the belief that vines, land, and climate are deeply interconnected. This philosophy has established it as a leading producer of Sangiovese in Romagna. Alessandro, the winemaker and fourth-generation family member, continues to uphold these values in both the cellar and vineyards. Predappio boasts a unique microclimate, rich customs, and a storied history, all of which are reflected in the wines of Fattoria Nicolucci. The medieval town of Predappio Alta, with its historic castle perched 247 meters above sea level, adds to the charm of this remarkable area.

A Land Naturally Suited for Wine

The hills surrounding the winery are lush with ancient vines and enriched by historical sulfur mines. The lean, calcareous, and pebbly soils contribute to the exceptional quality of the grapes. The "Municipal Statutes" of Predappio Alta, dating back to 1383, highlight the careful management of Sangiovese production around the castle, ensuring the cultivation of outstanding grapes. Predappio Alta is a hidden gem nestled among the stunning Romagna hills, inviting wine lovers to appreciate its world-class Sangiovese wines.

Top general's vineyard tasting! Fascinating tour of the ancient cellars. Production process explained very well, the passion for work of this "small" cellar is very evident. Wines with a Romagna snack enjoyed in front of the fireplace in the tavern. Excellent experience, highly recommended.

Excellent wines. If you then make an agreement with the owner, there is the possibility of tasting all the wines one afternoon, accompanied by cold cuts and cheeses. Possibility to visit the ancient cellars. Special mention to the "vigna del Generale" wine Truly an excellent wine.

What a wonderful experience, we arrived at this wonderful cellar and the owner welcomed us with great kindness, he gave us a wonderful tour of the cellar which is in the shadow of the tower. The aging cellars, which once belonged to the tower, leave you speechless, time passes but the passion for wine remains unchanged. The owner offered us plates of typical cured meats and his wonderful wines that left us speechless, the Predappio black is wonderful as is the slightly macerated white and the Martinotti method, but this is what struck me the most but also the others are excellent products. We will definitely be back.
