Vinchio-Vaglio Serra, between Green Vineyards and Beautiful Nature
Launched in 1959, Vinchio-Vaglio Serra is located on the hills of Alto Monferrato, Piedmont. The steep hillside farming, combined with both traditional and modern practices, establishes a wonderful expression for wine production under Piedmont DOC status. The elegant vineyards and delightful countryside leave a massive impact on every soul who pays a visit.
The Winery is an Establishment from Several Winegrowers
The Cooperative cellar of the winery was established in 1959 by 19 winegrowers from Vinchio and Vaglio Serra. Today, the company has a large number of contributors, dedicated to the vineyards of 450 hectares. The land of 270 hectares is reserved for unique Barabera vines to produce Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G. wines. Most of the vineyards are located in Vinchio and Vaglio. Some of them are in the provinces of Incisa Scapaccino, Cortiglione, Nizza Monferrato, CastelnuovoBelbo, CastelnuovoCalcea, and Mombercelli.
Vinchio-Vaglio Serra Provides a Great Portfolio of Autochthonous Varieties
Despite some difficulties, these regions provide optimal exposure to the vines for their proper growth. Each plant in the vineyard produces 1.5-2 kilograms of grapes with appropriate sugar gradations. Apart from Barbera, the company grows fruity Grignolino, Ruche, Nebbiolo, Pinot Nero, Cortese, Chardonnay, Arneis, Moscato, and Brachetto. From these multi-faceted grapes varieties, they produce red, white and rose wines, along with delicious dessert and sparkling wines. The cellar is outfitted with advanced equipment and comprised of modern wine-making facilities, and a newly-built bottling room. Along with that, large and small barrels and steel containers to store wines are placed in the cellar around a clean environment. Vinchio-Vaglio Serra Winery has a welcoming sales point, situated in the wine tasting room, where you can buy the prestigious wines of Vinchio-Vaglio Serra.
