Organic Winery With A Long History
The winery is located on the beautiful Monterosso hill in the spa town Acqui Terme at 300 meters above sea level. Established at the end of the nineteenth century in Alto Monferrato Region of Piemonte, they have been cultivating vineyards and transforming their fine grapes into DOC and DOCG wines. The estate, along with its vineyards, rests among the hills, giving a mesmerizing view of the wonders of nature. Vitivinicola Bellati has also been a certified organic wine producer since 2001.
An organic and sustainable approach
Cultivation of the vineyards follows the traditional methods which are inherited from generation to generation. Natural substances such as Sulphur, lime, copper, and some medicinal herbs like nettle, horsetail, and garlic are used to help plants defend themselves. As an insecticide, only pyrethrum which is an extract of natural origin is used. In addition, they have placed artificial nests across the vineyard to host insectivorous birds. Fertilization is exclusively obtained from plants, through grass planting in alternating rows, varying from year to year for proper management of the soil. This procedure nourishes their soil which helps them claim their produce “Free of chemicals”.
Refined Wines at Vitivinicola Bellati
The transformation of the grapes into wines not only follows their inherited tradition but also all the measures from public health organizations keeping hygiene top of everything. The cellar where fermentation takes place is certified every year. Vitivinicola Bellati uses industry-standard stainless steel containers and barrels for most of the processes. They bottle their prized wines using only natural and best corks and glass bottles following the analysis carried out by the SINERGO study center which also provides the company with oenological consulting.
