Organic Winery with a Rich Heritage

Nestled on the picturesque Monterosso hill in Acqui Terme, Vitivinicola Bellati stands at an elevation of 300 meters. Founded in the late 19th century in the Alto Monferrato region of Piemonte, this winery has a long-standing tradition of cultivating vineyards and producing exceptional DOC and DOCG wines. Surrounded by rolling hills, the estate offers breathtaking views of the natural landscape. Since 2001, Vitivinicola Bellati has proudly operated as a certified organic wine producer.

Sustainable Practices for Quality Wines

The vineyard's cultivation methods are rooted in tradition, passed down through generations. To protect the vines, they utilize natural substances such as sulfur, lime, copper, and medicinal herbs like nettle, horsetail, and garlic. For pest control, only pyrethrum, a natural insecticide, is employed. Additionally, artificial nests are placed throughout the vineyard to attract insectivorous birds, promoting a balanced ecosystem. Fertilization relies solely on plant-based methods, with alternating grass planting to enhance soil health, ensuring their produce is free of chemicals.

Crafting Exceptional Wines at Vitivinicola Bellati

The winemaking process at Vitivinicola Bellati adheres to both traditional practices and stringent hygiene standards set by public health organizations. The fermentation cellar is certified annually, ensuring quality and safety. The winery employs industry-standard stainless steel containers and barrels for most processes. Bottling is done using premium natural corks and glass bottles, guided by analyses from the SINERGO study center, which also provides expert oenological consulting.

We have been buying organic wines from the Bellatis for years. They are passionate about the organic aspect, both of their wine and their own vegetable growing. Prices are very honest for excellent products. Our favourite among the reds is dolcetto and we can never resist their dessert wines for special occasions: Moscato, just the right degree of sweetness and Brachetto, with its inimitable nose.... roses, roses all the way!
