Family-Owned Weingut Alois Höllerer
The Alois Höllerer winery is located in the Kamptal region and is family-owned since 1808. They strive to give everyone a traditional and authentic experience through their wines. Wine goes hand in hand with nature. The climate, soil, rainfall, and sunshine are the main factors that shape each vintage of wine in a unique and different way. Recently, the winery celebrated its 200-year old anniversary and has been offering rich, natural wines to its customer for a long time.
Weather and Natural Conditions around the Winery
Winemaking is not very straightforward, and each vintage has its own demands and challenges to take care of. The rolling hills and forests of Kamptal provide protection from the cool northern winds while the southern area has a warm Pannonian climate. The distinct climate works perfectly with the soil of the region to offer the best conditions for viticulture. Gruner Veltliner is the main grape grown here while Chardonnay, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Welschriesling, Neuburger, etc. are also grown.
The best grapes are handpicked by the workers and brought to the cellar for vinification. They combine traditional ideas with modern technology to obtain complexity and fruitiness in the wines. Around 150,000 bottles of wine are made annually. In Kamptal, three-fourth area is dedicated to white grapes while rose, red, and sparkling wines are also made by the company. Enjoy the superb, pure, and aromatic wines while visiting the winery for a nice time and experience.
