Weingut Hannes Sabathi, located in Gamlitz, South Styria, has been a family-run winery since 1860. In 2005, Hannes Sabathi took the reins from his parents and has since elevated the winery's status within the Styrian wine community. His philosophy centers on the concept of terroir, emphasizing the importance of soil in winemaking. Known as ‘the Sabathi with the roots,’ Hannes is passionate about understanding the land, having personally examined the soils in his vineyards to enhance the relationship between soil and grape variety.

The Majestic Vineyards

The winery spans approximately 30 hectares in southern Styria and an additional 4.5 hectares in Grazer Kehlberg. The region benefits from a warm, humid climate influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, making it ideal for vine cultivation. Key grape varieties grown here include Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Welschriesling. Weingut Hannes Sabathi categorizes its wines into four distinct groups, each reflecting the unique characteristics of the vintage and vinification process. The wines showcase the rich flavors and aromas that define the Styrian region, making them a true representation of local viticulture.
