At Weingut MUSTER.gamlitz, we believe that the essence of great wine lies in the love and care that goes into its creation. Nestled in the stunning South Styria wine region of Austria, our winery thrives in a unique climate shaped by the Illyrian weather and the majestic Alps. This environment, with its Mediterranean sunshine, temperature variations, and rainfall, presents both challenges and opportunities, allowing us to craft wines that are authentic and balanced.

We focus on ensuring that every glass of wine, from the first to the last, brings joy. Our philosophy has evolved since the 1990s, shifting from a process of making wine to one of allowing it to emerge naturally. While we provide the necessary foundation in the cellar, we let the wine develop its character, stepping back to let its true essence shine through. Each bottle is cherished until the very last drop.

Reinhard, the heart of our winery, leads with a grounded and open spirit. He approaches every task with calmness and dedication. His daughters, Miriam and Laurenzia, bring energy and joy to the winery, believing their father produces the finest grape juice. Our team works collaboratively, tackling challenges with diligence and a personal touch.

Rooted in Tradition

South Styria offers ideal conditions for a diverse range of white grape varieties. We focus on three key elements: the grape variety, the seasonal weather, and the unique soil types of our vineyards. Our wines reflect these characteristics, showcasing the region's rich viticultural heritage.

Our Klassik Line – Celebrating Local Varieties

The Klassik line highlights the vibrant flavors of South Styrian grape varieties. Vinified primarily in stainless steel tanks, these wines maintain their classic character, offering fruity and lively profiles best enjoyed young.

Illyr – A Tribute to the Weather

Our Illyr wines pay homage to the climatic influences that shape our grapes. We select the ripest fruit, which has been most affected by the year's weather, allowing it to mature in a mix of wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks. These wines reach their peak after three to four years and can be aged for 10 to 15 years.

Lagenweine – The Essence of Terroir

In the heart of Gamlitz, our Lagenweine represent the pinnacle of quality. Sourced from the prestigious Riede Grubthal, these wines are crafted only in exceptional vintages. Aged for 20 to 30 months in a combination of new and old barrels, they exhibit complexity, structure, and a distinctive minerality, with a storage potential of 15 years or more.
