Committed to Tradition and Quality

Weingut Lutz, a proud fourth-generation family winery, is nestled along the scenic Kraichgau - Stromberg wine route. Situated on the border of Baden-Württemberg, we cultivate 17 hectares of vineyards across both Württemberg and Baden. Our winery is housed in the historic Pfleghof of the Herrenalb monastery, once the official office of the former Derdingen Rentamt. Here, we grow a variety of grapes, including Riesling, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris, thriving in the unique soils of shell limestone, loess, Keuper, Buntsandstein, and marl.

Weingut Lutz Vineyards

The exceptional geological diversity of our region, combined with warm summer days and cool nights, creates a perfect environment for our wines. This climate fosters a rich array of aromas, power, maturity, elegance, and minerality. To fully express the unique characteristics of each vineyard plot, we maintain a close connection with nature, drawing inspiration from over 800 years of viticulture in our cultural landscape. We believe that great wine requires patience and meticulous care.

Weingut Lutz Wines

At Weingut Lutz, wine is an integral part of our culture, reflecting the beauty of our sun-drenched vineyards and diverse soils. Oberderdingen is unique, as it is the only location with vineyards in both Württemberg and Baden, allowing us to produce a wide range of exceptional wines that showcase the region's distinct terroir.

We celebrated our wedding on May 4th in the rustic and beautiful wine cellar. Even the planning in advance was uncomplicated and we immediately felt at home. The day itself was beautiful, the service was great, the food was really delicious and the price-performance ratio was unbeatable. Definitely recommended.

It was our first time eating in the wine bar. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, great ambience. The menu is clear (speaks for the quality) and has great, varied dishes. The seasonal wild card is also nice. The lady in service was very friendly and attentive. The food was incredibly delicious. We were definitely not here for the last time.

I was there years ago with several friends for a weekend! Unfortunately, not much has changed! A grumpy manager who refused to serve outside when asked. So we ate inside. The quality was very good! When we left, they were serving outside!!! It wasn't possible to buy wine either! Dear owners, there's a lot of room for improvement in terms of organization, and the friendliness could also be improved!

On our first night in Oberderdingen, we ate at Lutz. I asked for a recommendation on what was a regional specialty and they steered me to the Maultaschen (mouth pockets), the ravioli-like dumplings were packed with minced meat and smothered in onions and tomato. The perfect comfort food, they were flavorful and satisfying. My wife is vegetarian, so she chose the gnocci, served with pumpkin seeds and cubes in pumpkin oil. In addition to the delicious food, we had mentioned to the waitress that we were visiting the town because my ancestors came from Oberderdingen. We had several addresses to visit and several family names of possible relatives. Soon, she was bringing by some of the patrons that were interested in meeting us who treated us like family.
