Authentic Austrian Wines from a Family Legacy
The Winemaker
Passionate, dedicated, and approachablePaul D. embodies the spirit of a true winemaker. Growing up surrounded by his grandparents' agricultural and wine-growing heritage, he took over the family farm at just 16 years old in 2006. By 2008, he began exporting his wines to the United States, marking the start of an exciting journey. Initially managing 35 hectares of farmland and 4 hectares of vineyards, Paul has since expanded his operations fivefold within a decade.
Now a father of two, Paul runs the winery alongside his wife, Romana, continuing a proud family tradition. Their children are already eager to learn about vineyard and cellar work, showcasing the family's commitment to passing down their passion for winemaking. With a focus on sustainability and a love for quality wine, Paul aims to share a taste of Austrian culture through his creations.
The Winery
Family-owned, sustainable, and passionateFor four generations, our family has poured heart and soul into winemaking. We cultivate approximately 30 hectares of vineyards with a commitment to sustainability, ensuring that our wines are not only of the highest quality but also reflect our love for the land. Our vineyards span notable sites such as the "Schlossberg" in Mitterstockstall and "Goldberg" in Engelmannsbrunn.
As part of our dedication to the environment, we are in the process of obtaining organic certification. Starting in 2023, all our wines will be produced organically, ensuring a healthier future for our vineyards and the next generation.
The Wagram Region
Rich, elegant wines from unique terroirThe name "Wagram" comes from "Wogenrain," meaning seashore, which reflects the region's unique soil composition. Layers of loess, fine sands, and ancient river gravel create a distinctive terroir that shapes our wines. The fertile loess soil and favorable climate conditions provide an ideal environment for producing full-bodied, flavorful wines.
Our signature grape, Grüner Veltliner, thrives in the Wagram region, resulting in aromatic wines that balance richness with drinkability. Each bottle tells the story of our land, showcasing the elegance and character that define Austrian winemaking.
