A Sustainable Third-Generation Winery in Lower Austria
Weingut Steyrer: Crafting Quality Wines Since 1979
Weingut Steyrer is a family-owned winery in Lower Austria, proudly producing wines since 1979. As a third-generation establishment, they have focused on crafting single-vineyard, aromatic wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the Traisental region. This area is renowned for its exceptional quality and diversity in wine production. The introduction of the Traisental DAC in 2006 has further enhanced the region's reputation for high-quality wines. Steyrer wines are known for their clean style, balanced structure, and vibrant fruit aromas, offering both classic and innovative variations.
The Terroir of Weingut Steyrer
Situated in Anzenberg and on the slopes of Walpersdorf’s mountain, Weingut Steyrer benefits from a unique terroir. The soil, rich in limestone and sand, contributes to the exceptional quality of their wines. The Pannonian climate, combined with cool winds from the Alps and approximately 1,700 hours of sunshine annually, creates ideal conditions for vine cultivation. The winery primarily grows Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt, Riesling, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Weissburgunder, and Rösler grapes. Only the finest grapes are selected for their red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. Committed to sustainability, the winery employs organic and integrated farming methods to protect the environment and ensure the health of their vines. Additionally, a partnership with a local caterer allows them to offer delicious snacks and festive menus for visitors.
