The Weingut Tauss- Beautiful Winery with Biodynamic Wines
The Weingut Tauss winery, along with its vineyards, is located in the South Styria region. The winery in Schlossberg right next to Leutschach ad Weinstrasse has six hectares of vineyards, which comprise of three cauldrons with south and southwest main orientation and an altitude of 450 to 500 meters above sea level. It is a great place to embrace the beauty of nature, along with biodynamic wines with tasty cuisine. Guests can go hiking and even do yoga with professional instructors here.
The owners Roland and Alice Tauss are happy to receive guests and organize a nice time and experience for them.
High-Quality Grapes
The winery works according to the old craft tradition combined with bio-dynamic and organic viticulture. The vineyard Hohenegg is named after a chapel located very close to the vineyards. The microclimate in the region is perfect, and the soil is calcareous sandy, which includes many minerals. This makes the region ideal for growing high-quality grapes. The grapes smell, just like the soil, and the vineyards also have many wild herbs and beautiful flowers. The grapes which grow here are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufrankisch, Pinot Gris, etc. which are used to make their biodynamic red, white, rose, sparkling, and orange wines.
High-Quality Winemaking Techniques
The use of biodynamic farming inthe winery allows the wines to retain a natural, fruity taste. High quality winemaking techniques and ageing give the desired taste to the wines that provide delight and pleasure to the customers. The winery also has apartments to accommodate guests and winemaker rooms to conduct wine tastings.

Quality natural wines!
Roland Tauss was very nice. He gave us a tour of the cellar and we got to taste many interesting varieties of his white and red wines, including a couple orange wines, in his tasting room. I appreciated his approach to winemaking and the types of flavor profiles he produces. The property appears to be beautiful, but you don't get to see it when just visit for a tasting. He appears to be a rare natural wine producer with open doors in the region!
