Biondi- Winery located in the region of Etna with Beautiful Scenic Views
Biondi winery is located in the region of Etna, covering 17,200 square meters of the land. The winery is a tribute to the dedication and hard work. Rich for the cultivation of the grapes, the area has volcanic soil and red pumice. The winery covers beautiful scenic views, giving wines all the nutrients from the ground to absorb.
Prizes Won by the Winery
The winery has a history since 1600 as the three vineyards are still in existence and currently taken care of by the present owners. At the end of the 19th century, Biondi winery was established and did an incredible expansion in the early 1900s. The commitment and passion for producing wines have credits to the Salvatore Biondi, along with his brother Cirino and another producer.
These three of them established Biondi and Lanzafame, and the company has won several prizes and medals for its work.
Casalmonferato 1913, Paris 1914, Lyon 1914, Cuneo 1914, Milan 1914, enrolment in the “GRANDE LIBRO D’ORO” are few of the achievements of the company Biondi and Lanzafame.
Exportation of their Wines
The production of wines with the quality has allowed doors for them to export wines to Europe and the United States. Due to a lack of modernized technology for wines, a sudden debacle began after the second world war. This issue might have given a stop to the company, but the passion never dies. Ciro and his brother Stef Biondi started to operate again in 1999 by reconstructing the family vineyards with the proper plans this time.
Wines are classified under Doc at this date of the production. Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Caricanteare the varieties of the grapes cultivated in this winery where red and white wines are produced.
