Write a reviewA nice lady but the language barrier was a huge problem. The wine tasted great but we did not learn about the wine making process and the region. The tour was over after around 45 minutes where my husband and I tried to have a living conversation. I guess it would have been much better in Spanish but I can not recommend the English tour.
Comparing with other visits in Laguardia, this one was a bit overpriced.. Not too much to complain besides the price though. The wine was good, the snacks could have been more, but they were delicious. Only the owner was also reading to us the info regarding the wines from the commercial materials.
Thank you for your comment. We just want to clarify that what we offer is not a guided tour as such, but an exclusive wine tasting experience, and the price is in line with this. It is like ordering several wines in a bar, with the difference that here we accompany them with a homemade snack and explanations about the wines. We had a lovely tasting experience. Manon was knowledgeable and friendly and laid out the most delicious jamon and cheese to go with the wine! We also had a chance to meet and speak with the family growers. The wines, the Tempranillo especially, was amazing! We bought more bottles than we thought our baggage would allow us to carry! Fortunately, it all came home with us, no problem.
We had a warm experience at the Bodega, A small family run winery. The focus was on the tasting which was done by the lady who spoke limited English. We could not understand the wine making process other than being told the fermentation was done in concrete vats. The tasting was informal and unstructured, I would recommend to formalise the process a bit better including explanation of the wine’s and as well as visiting the actual Bodega.
A true wine madness…. One of the best Rioja wines I have tried.
