A Family Winery with Over 25 Years of Tradition

Bodegas Vallobera is a testament to the dedication and passion of its founders, Javier San Pedro Randez and Ana Ortega. Established in 1990, this family-owned winery has been crafting unique wines for over two decades. Javier, a descendant of vine growers, was the first in his family to bottle wines that reflect their rich heritage. The winery initially produced wines in the classic Rioja Alavesa style, and by 1992, it began aging around 100 casks of its first vintages, setting the stage for a legacy of quality.

The Vineyards: A Hidden Gem in Rioja Alavesa

Located in the picturesque Rioja Alavesa subzone, Bodegas Vallobera's vineyards benefit from the protective embrace of the Sierra de Cantabria, shielding them from harsh northern storms. The vines thrive at altitudes between 500 and 650 meters, focusing on quality over quantity. The primary grape varieties cultivated here include Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Viura, Malvasia, and Sauvignon Blanc. These carefully selected grapes contribute to the winery's acclaimed wines, which have garnered prestigious awards and recognition worldwide.

Experience the Essence of Rioja

Visitors to Bodegas Vallobera can expect to taste wines that embody the spirit of the Rioja region. With a commitment to quality and tradition, each bottle tells a story of the land and the family behind it. Whether you are a seasoned wine enthusiast or a curious traveler, Bodegas Vallobera offers a unique glimpse into the art of winemaking in one of Spain's most celebrated wine regions.

A wonderful visit to the winery. We were three people on a Monday and they treated us wonderfully. They were super nice people who clearly love their job and are happy to answer all your questions. Of course, we ended up with a great tasting. Totally recommended.

Spectacular visit to this great family winery. Erlantz explained and taught us everything about the winery and wine in general for more than two hours. Highly recommended visit and ending with a tasting accompanied by very good sausage. The wines we tried were spectacular, both the red, rosé and white. If you are in La Guardia, I recommend 100% to visit it. Thank you for everything.

Sensational visit to the Vallobera wineries led by Fernando. Yesterday we visited the wineries with my partner and discovered the world of wine in a different way, explained to us by Fernando, the company's winemaker, who lives his work with passion. Visit 1000% recommended and the final tasting is spectacular with a selection of delicious wines

Four of us signed up for a tour and wine tasting. From the outside, the winery looks rather unspectacular. Our guide Fernando explained everything to us excellently in English. We went to the vineyards first and then to the cellar. Since it was harvest time, we also saw this process. The wine tasting afterwards with a delicious ham and cheese plate was outstandingly good. The wines are excellent and Fernando described everything to us wonderfully. There was also more to try than agreed. The €30 per person was definitely worth it. Highly recommended. 👍🍷
