Get to know about the ultra-centenary passion of a family, linked to the production of wine

Territory

Borgo Turrito is located on the border with Bosco Incoronata Regional Park, a protected natural area of over 1000 hectares about 12 km from Foggia, the capital of Dauno. We are in the heart of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, the second largest plain in Italy. Our land, surrounded by the Dauni Mountains, stretches out towards the Adriatic, embracing the coast. Expanses of olive trees and vineyards run from the sea to the hinterland between the suggestive coves and Gargano caves, nature reserves and characteristic perched villages.

Our History

Borgo Turrito was founded in 2006, the year when Luca took over the helm of the family company, linked since 1890 to the cultivation of vines. A generational transition that has meant a change of vision and an expansion of perspectives, while maintaining the strong attachment to the land that has been handed down for years here, in Borgo Incoronata.

Nature and Biodiversity

In all our vineyards we have chosen not to use herbicides. With the practice of green manure we are able to contain the growth of weeds, while promoting biodiversity and the content of organic matter. Respecting nature, we have drastically reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and, using pheromone traps to monitor the grapevine moth, we are able to determine when it is necessary to intervene with pesticides, consequently limiting their use. We firmly believe in the protection of nature, which is why we rely on the strategies and tools of precision farming. By constantly monitoring climatic parameters such as temperature, humidity and rainfall, we are able to optimize resources and reduce waste.
