The Inspiration Behind Burnt Acre Vineyard
The winemaker's passion for wine was ignited during a visit to the Passing Clouds cellar, a moment that solidified a lifelong dream. This passion was further fueled by their father's love for wine. In 1989, Cliff Stubbs and Maureen O’Connor purchased the winery, naming it Burnt Acre Vineyard after a grass fire in 1991. Since then, they have embraced a continuous learning process in winemaking and business, fostering a close friendship with Grame Leith at Passing Clouds, which has been instrumental in their success.
