Experience Stunning Views and Exceptional Wines in Victoria's Yarra Valley
The Winemaker
Ninth-generation winemaker Dominique Portet established his winery in 2000 in Coldstream, Yarra Valley, a region known for its cool climate. Since 1976, he has played a key role in revitalizing Australia’s cool-climate wine scene, founding notable sparkling wine producers like Taltarni in the Pyrenees and Clover Hill in Tasmania.
This winery represents a long search for grape-growing terroir that rivals his native Bordeaux, marking a new chapter in a winemaking legacy that dates back to the early 1700s in France. Today, his son Ben, the tenth generation, leads the winemaking team, upholding the estate's core values: honoring tradition, understanding the land, and embracing modern techniques to create refined and flavorful wines.
A Scenic Place for Wines to Dwell
Surrounded by the picturesque rolling vineyards of the Yarra Valley, Dominique Portet offers a unique L'Apéro menu that highlights classic French family recipes. This historic estate is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking Australian wines crafted with a French touch.
