The Winery as the Result of a Brainchild of Two Friends
Cantina Benedetti and Grigi is located in the beautiful hills of Montefalco in Umbria in Italy. The winery is the brainchild of two friends, Umberto Benedetti and Daniele Grigi. They have created a company projected into the future with roots into the history of Umbrian wine tradition. The people that work in the winery are highly passionate professionals striving to produce great wines sought after all over the world.
Vineyards in Close Proximity of Cantina Benedetti and Grigi
They use innovative and sustainable techniques to produce quality wines. The vinification is carried out using modern techniques with full respect to the grapes they produce. Their vineyards are located few kilometers from the center of Montefalco. They produce the typical grape variety of the area called Sagrantino. In Cantina Benedetti & Grigi’s vineyards, they also grow Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Grechetto, Trebbiano Spoletino and Chardonnay. They produce red, white, rose and sparkling wines using the grapes and most of their wines are classified DOCG, DOC and IGT.
A Member of Montefalco Consortium
Since 1981, wine producers of Montefalco have joined together in the Montefalco Consortium. The Consortium is responsible for coordinating with local producers and guiding them in both constant quality research and the promotion of the quintessential wines of the territory. The Consortium which currently has 231 members of which 59 wineries represents more than 80% of the certified production of Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG and Montefalco DOC in the region. Cantina Benedetti & Grigi Winery are also part of the consortium and thus can boast some of the best wines in the region.
