Experience the Rich Heritage of Emilia-Romagna's Cooperative Winery
A Historic Collaboration
Cantina Di Carpi E Sorbara is a cooperative winery established in 2012 through the merger of two esteemed wineries: Carpi Winery, founded in 1903, and Sorbara Winery, which has been part of the Modena wine landscape since 1923. This cooperative is dedicated to producing high-quality wines, including DOC Lambrusco, Pignoletto DOC, and Colli Bolognesi DOCG. By supporting local winegrowers, the cooperative ensures that traditional winemaking practices thrive while benefiting from the region's rich vineyards. In addition to classic red and white wines, Cantina Di Carpi E Sorbara has introduced a selection of sparkling wines.
Producers of Exceptional Lambrusco
The cooperative operates six facilities across Carpi, Concordia, Poggio Rusco, Rio Saliceto, Sorbara, and Bazzano, encompassing a total of 400 hectares of vineyards. Five of these facilities focus on grape pressing, while one is dedicated to bottling. Currently, 1,200 members cultivate over 2,300 hectares of vineyards, producing approximately 450,000 hectoliters of wine annually. The cooperative collaborates closely with its members to maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process. The winery sources grapes from various regions, including Modena, Reggio Emilia, Mantova, and the surrounding areas of Bologna. The sandy, fertile soil contributes to the growth of healthy vines, resulting in ripe, aromatic grapes that are perfect for winemaking.
