A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation in Emilia-Romagna
The Opera02 Estate
Founded in 2002, the Ca ‘Montanari estate is nestled in the picturesque hills of Levizzano Rangone. Initially starting with just five hectares of vines, the estate has expanded to encompass 45 hectares, offering stunning views of the Modena area. At the heart of the estate lies a beautifully restored barn, now serving as both a resort and a vinegar factory. The Montanari family has deep roots in agriculture, with a legacy of passing down the values and traditions of their land through generations.
Vineyards of Opera02
Ca ‘Montanari began its journey with the planting of Grasparossa, one of the oldest native grape varieties known for its distinctive red stalks. Over the years, the estate has also cultivated other local varieties, including Trebbiano di Modena, essential for producing Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, as well as Malbo Gentile, Moscato, and Fiano. These grapes reflect the rich viticultural heritage of the Emilia-Romagna region.
The Cellar at Opera02
The organic wines produced at Ca ‘Montanari are a testament to ongoing innovation and a commitment to quality. By blending traditional methods with modern technology, the winery prioritizes quality over quantity. Each vintage is unique, mirroring the changing seasons and the diverse characteristics of the land. This philosophy results in wines that are authentic, showcasing the natural essence of the grapes without artificial enhancements.
