led by passion, relying on our history and pioneering techniques

Vision of The Winery

Our aim is to rediscover the original winemaking craft, with no sophistication in order to express its purity and our culture and pride of being Italian. We are craftsmen. The vineyards and cellar workers are the same who welcome visitors and guests, we are led by passion relying on our history and pioneering techniques.

Wine Making at Cantina Il Poggio

We create “beyond-contemporary” wines, where tradition and innovation are tied, wines projected into the future but with a solid bond with the past. Il Poggio wines mirror our philosophy: we love to talk about them holding the glass, and we are sure you will perceive all the passion and the efforts we put into it. Our goal is to give a full immersion into our wine world, amaze you with the landscape, and take care of your taste with wines paired with very special food.

The tasting room is quite unique: it used to be a helicopter hangar, now it can welcome 40 people inside likewise outside and is connected to the winery by an underground tunnel.

Warm, helpful, very nice, but above all competent! The tour was very interesting, the tasting left us speechless! Delicious and exquisite wines, as well as the accompanying food. Lovely experience! We particularly appreciated the attention and commitment to satisfying the needs caused by food allergies. Thank you so much!

Beautiful experience on Valentine's Day, where they brought us 6 glasses of different wines, with an explanation, accompanied by 6 food pairings, all by candlelight and with background music, it was all beautiful and very good, we will definitely return often, thanks for the wonderful evening

Amazing taste experience. We were welcomed with simplicity and kindness and were able to learn about the history of the winery and the basic steps in the production of a wine. From there we moved on to the tasting with 5 glasses and various products, all fantastic. Particularly appreciated are the Parmesan aged for 36 months and the cold cuts. Quality wines, perhaps also given the heat, we particularly appreciated Vedovona and Vedova Nera. Congratulations to all the staff for the work done with competence and passion.

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, we were guests at Cantina Il Poggio for a tasting. We were greeted by Alessandra, who proved to be very prepared, attentive, patient and ready to answer any questions we asked her. Excellent wines, well presented and accompanied by local delicacies. The toasted bread with the oil from the cellar was the best! Even if the weather was not the best, we were enchanted by the place. Rolling hills and views as far as the eye can see. We will certainly come back at another time to be able to admire the place on a sunny day.
