A Family-Run Winery in Sardinia

Cantina Mussennore is a testament to family unity and a deep love for the land. Founded by Antonio, Francesco, and Roberta, along with their parents Maria Antonietta and Pietro, this winery honors their grandfather Gesuino, who established the vineyard in 1976. Today, the next generation is dedicated to preserving this legacy while introducing innovative ideas for the future of their wines.

The Vineyards of Cantina Mussennore Mamoiada

Nestled between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, the vineyards of Mamoiada produce grapes with remarkable flavor and aroma. This region is particularly known for its Cannonau grapes, which thrive in the area's unique climate and soil. Over the past 15 years, the vineyard area has expanded significantly, reflecting the commitment of local producers to uphold and enhance wine production in this historic territory.

The Mamoiada Wine Culture

The town of Mamoiada is rich in wine culture, deeply rooted in its history and traditions. Famous for its Cannonau wine, made from the Grenache grape, this robust red is a staple at local tables, often paired with hearty Sardinian dishes. The wine culture here is celebrated through various festivals, including the annual "Cortes Apertas," where wineries welcome visitors for tastings and insights into their winemaking processes.

Highly recommended. Excellent wines with tastings of fabulous cured meats and cheeses. Tasting tour and vineyard tour highly recommended but the thing we appreciated most were the owners Pietro and Roberta and their family welcome, the stories are told with the enthusiasm of those who are passionate about what they do. Compliments. Well done. Really good wines. See you soon

Beautiful experience. Friendliness and sharing. Highly recommended. We tasted Mussennore '21 Rosato '23 and GranaZza '23 together with local cured meats and cheeses, all special but in addition to the excellent quality of the wine you are involved in a unique family atmosphere. Well done

Our tour at the Mussennorre winery was agreed with Francesco, one of the sons of the Fadda family. Once we arrived in Mamoiada we were welcomed by him and his wife, exquisite and very kind guys. They accompanied us through the streets of the village and we were literally won over by the historical stories of the place, a small village that truly seems out of time, with a unique peace and welcome. After a short tour of the cellar where Francesco explained the history of their wines to us and where we also met Mr. Fadda, head of the family of this splendid nucleus, we were invited to a tour of the vineyards and family farms. We were together for lunch and tasted the wines from the cellar and met the rest of the family. A unique experience, kindness and love for one's land that made us fall in love with those places. The wine, its taste and attention to detail made this day magical. We have seen first-hand that Italian spirit that distinguishes us in the world, its excellence, its humanity. Highly recommended experience. We for our part will definitely return. Hi Francesco, from Vale, Simo, Tommy and Vittoria! Until next time!

We met Francesco di Mussenore in a restaurant in Tuscany where we were tasting one of the distinctive wines of his cellar and his territory. Young, passionate, competent, he invited us to visit his Mamoiada and its facilities. And so it was. We went to visit Francesco and his wonderful family, his reality. It was a satisfying experience, a total immersion in the Nuoro countryside in its scents and views. Francesco accompanied us on a journey through his ancient vineyards that give the rich and intense Cannonau, through the new plants that constitute the future of the company and the family investments in food and wine tourism in the area, with the bet on this mysterious wine that is Granazza, an ancient blend of the island that the Faddas have recovered. And then the tasting with the cheeses and cured meats produced by the family, the homemade carasau, the wines described and served with love in the family cellar, the white Granazza (awarded last year) with its amber color and its structure, the savory and dry rosé Cannonau, the red and powerful Cannonau savored between the various vintages. A unique, unforgettable and satisfying experience!! A warm and hospitable family.
