A Family Tradition

Cantina Roggero is proudly managed by the fifth generation of the Roggero family. Young winemaker Mauro Roggero continues the legacy established by his great-grandfather Prospero in the early 20th century. The winery cultivates traditional grape varieties alongside hazelnut groves, while also nurturing the surrounding woodlands. With a deep commitment to their heritage, the Roggero family crafts wines that reflect their passion and dedication to quality.

The Roggero family's connection to winemaking dates back to 1742, creating a rich tapestry of history and tradition.

Experience the Charm of Monferrato

This area, nestled between Asti and Turin, is known for its Romanic historical sites and breathtaking vistas of the Alps, standing at over 500 meters above sea level. The soil, primarily composed of sandstone and marly deposits from ancient marine sediments, is rich in minerals essential for producing high-quality wines. This mineral-rich environment provides an ideal setting for cultivating exceptional vines.

Mauro led me and a friend of mine on a splendid journey through the wine world of the Albugnano doc territory. We are far from the famous and inflated paths of Langhe wine, but also from Roero. Mauro's expertise, combined with the goodness and fertility of the surrounding land make it an experience that I recommend 101%. I recommend his vision and version of the revisited superior Freisa. Also worthy of note are Albugnano and Barbera. Hazelnuts are the icing on the cake of this family-run farm for 5 generations.

Today my friend and I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful family-run winery. We were welcomed by Marina, a truly special woman who meticulously explained to us all the steps from processing the grapes to bottling. And then he offered us a remarkable wine tasting. All accompanied by an extraordinary panorama overlooking the vineyards. I highly recommend having this experience, you won't regret it. Thanks Marina

Cantina Roggero the simplicity of carrying on family traditions, which have been handed down for 5 generations. The word that is perceived when tasting their products is Passion. Located approximately 350 meters above sea level, immersed in the hills of lower Monferrato, far from everyday life and traffic, the Roggero winery was born. We were welcomed by Mauro, nephew, and the winemaker of the company, who by combining his own studies with the traditions and experiences of his grandparents, contributes to the development of the wines produced. In an exhaustive way Mauro told us the entire production process, which seemed very simple from his words, but highlights meticulous research into detail, which undoubtedly makes the products of the Roggero winery unique. It is clear that the Roggero family invests in the quality of their products and the particularity of the dry Freesia is truly very particular. Nebbiolo, Grignolino and Barbera are the core of the winery, but in addition to these immense classics, we find the courage to develop Montanera, an ancient and forgotten quality, which only the Roggero winery has brought back to the tables. It was truly a pleasant surprise, I can only recommend the visit and tasting of the products of the Roggero winery, you will be captivated by the notes, flavours, colors of other times, immersed in the simple and elegant nature of the winemaking tradition.
