Cantina Santadi: A Sardinian Wine Experience

A historic place of Sardinian winemaking, the birthplace of Carignano del Sulcis. You can feel the important history of a cooperative that has chosen a precise path to stay up to date and satisfy a certain level of customers. The guide was fantastic and we were received with attention and courtesy. A wonderful experience to recommend.

We took part in a luxury wine tasting here. At this point we were the only participants at the tasting, which made the tour of the cantina and the tasting of the wines a very private experience. A very nice experience. Chiara guided us through the cantina very expertly, explained everything very well without rushing and answered all of our questions. The wines offered for tasting and the food served with them were very tasty and it felt more like lunch than a small snack. Here too, the wines and the food to go with them were explained in a very interesting way. We really enjoyed it. Thank you very much :-)

Our visit to the cantina was truly worthwhile. It was magnificent to hear the history of the winery and gain some insight into the wine production process. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Leonardo, who guided us through the tour and was exceptionally helpful. We did a wine tasting at Cantina Santadi and were given a guided tour. It was fantastic. Very exciting and friendly, the food that went with it was great and of course the wine... really, really good!

Nice little wine shop. We only bought wines here and didn't taste anything like that. The wines are very tasty and, if you order them by the canister, very affordable.

This is our favorite winery in Sardinia. We regularly drive here from Sinna to buy larger quantities of wine. The staff are friendly and we think the red and rosé wine are very good. If you are coming or going from the direction of Cagliari, you should stop at the CASTELLO AQUA FREDDA, ​​have a drink at the kiosk and take a look at the castle. The Santadi winery is located in Sulcis, in the south-west of Sardinia, just a few kilometres from the wonderful white beaches and dunes of Porto Pino. The visit begins outside the winery, goes through the production areas and leads to the discovery of the barrel cellar, ending with the tasting of the wines accompanied by a small selection of typical local products. The tasting and visit to the Santadi winery was very pleasant in the company of some friends. Leonardo told the story of the winery in the best possible way and Chiara during the tasting showed us the peculiarities of the wines being tasted. A selection of local products accompany the wines that are tasted. There are several types of tasting. I was given the prestige version with 5 tastings as a present for my birthday: Prestigio Soláis Classic method sparkling wine (36 months) made from native white grapes Cala Silencio Vermentino from Sardinia DOC noras Cannonau from Sardinia DOC Terras browns Carignano dei Sulcis DOC Superiore latinía Wine made from overripe white grapes typical of the area. Tasting and visit recommended. Great passion and professionalism of those responsible for the winery.

A pleasant discovery of the excellence of the territory. A strong link with tradition that emerges from the aromas and flavours of each tasting. The visit to the winery was very interesting, as was the tasting of wines with km 0 products, two excellences that come together to form a synergy that is only created in authentic and true environments.

We stopped by to buy wine here, as we could have done anywhere else, as it was a place we were passing through. We liked it so much that we returned on our next visit to Sardinia. Very good value for money. And very friendly staff.

Leonardo gave us a wonderful tour of the winery at Catina Santadi. We learnt a lot about how this cooperative makes over 2 million bottles of delicious wine every year with 650 hectares of farmland in Southern Sardinia. Leonardo was an excellent and gracious guide, who speaks excellent English after living in London. He provided us with an insightful and interesting tour of the winery, learning about the vintages, grapes and science behind the success at Catina Santadi. We then sat down to a sumptuous wine tasting, accompanied by delicious local meats, cheeses and breads. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in interested in the local wines of Sardinia. Leonardo was incredibly kind and gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling white wine for our fifth anniversary 🥰

The tour and the insight into the winery were extremely fascinating. We took the English tour. The wine tasting was very well described, explaining what each wine was good for and its characteristics. The side dishes, including a meat and cheese platter, were lovingly arranged with fruit. The guide also lovingly looked after the two girls (from another family) and offered them all sorts of things (mainly fruit ice cream) during the tasting. Four stars only because I would have liked to have seen the entire process of wine production from step to step, rather than just the individual locations on the winery. I highly recommend the tour.

Prestige Tasting A wonderful experience. Our guide/expert, Leonardo, showed us around the winery, explaining the history of this cooperative and gave a simplified account of the process (it is more complicated than I imagined). This was followed by a tasting which was accompanied with cheeses, cured hams and breads local to the region (this too was excellent and beautifully presented). The tastings were very generous (not a thimble measure like in the UK). Every wine had it’s own distinct character - all flavoursome, some with more body than others but all smooth, NO unpleasant after taste. We enjoyed all 4 wines we tasted. We bought Villa di Chiesa ‘20 (white) and Terre Brune ‘18 (red). Definitely recommend this tour/tasting and the shop. Staff were professional throughout - from the booking, during the tour and afterwards. Can’t recommend this winery enough. Thank you so much.

Visited with my parents who live here and other relatives from France. We could not have hoped in a better welcoming. The visit was classy and professional, the personnel was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much and the wind testing paired with local cheeses and meats was high quality. Definitely something worth doing again. Thank you to the entire staff.

Already entering the parking lot, the environment is well-kept and very beautiful. We went there because the night before we drank one of their very good wines. A wide quality of wines for all tastes. The girl guided us in the choice and recommended based on our tastes, I particularly love Vermentino...
