Cantine Campana: Nestled at the Foot of the Hills

Cantine Campana is a family-owned winery located at the foothills where the Val d'Arda and Chero rivers meet, in the picturesque Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. With a rich history of winemaking that has been passed down through generations, the Campana family is dedicated to the art of viticulture and wine production.

Today, traditional Italian winemaking techniques are complemented by modern equipment and technology, allowing for enhanced control over the winemaking process.

Taste Exceptional Italian Wines On-Site

In 2010, Cantine Campana expanded its facilities to increase wine production. The family is committed to preserving the agricultural heritage of the region and collaborates closely with local farmers, providing training in grape management, vineyard care, and winemaking. The winery's ideal location in the Piacenza hills offers the perfect terroir for crafting outstanding Italian wines. One of their flagship wines is the Gutturnio DOC, available in both still and sparkling varieties, featuring a brilliant ruby red color and a dry flavor profile.

A Winemaking Tradition Rooted in Roman Times

The history of wine in this region dates back to Roman times when it was shared as a symbol of friendship and community. Another notable wine from Cantine Campana is the Ortrugo DOC, also available in still and sparkling forms. This typical Piacenza wine boasts a light green color and a delicate aroma, produced by local farmers since the inception of winemaking in the area. Additionally, the Malvasia di Candia DOC, with its bright straw-yellow hue and distinctive fragrance, has its origins in Ancient Greece and pairs beautifully with local Piacenza cuisine.

4 stars for the commitment and passion that the owner was able to demonstrate during the visit and tasting. From my very personal taste I can say that the Antiquum Classico Riserva was a real discovery. I recommend a visit.

I arrived on Sunday and they were closed, as soon as the owner saw me he opened the door anyway and, without me asking, asked me if we wanted to visit their cellar. A place of real people who know what they do with simplicity and passion.
