The House of Outeiro

The Outerio House is situated on the valley of Quiroga at about 350 meters above sea level. In their vast 30 hectares of land, they have all possible orientations and different types of soil, predominantly slate, but in which we can also find “ terras Roxas ” (clays), quartzites, and loam soils. due to the diversity of the terroirs, they are able to produce wines with a marked minerality, aromatic, fruity, and great structure.

Three Ranges of excellent wines

The ORIGIN is defined by the love and passion that they feel for their land, and towards the creation of the winery project. They are wines of the year, with a touch of wood in the red, with good fruit and a wide range of nuances. The SHIELD is the coat of arms of the House of Outeiro. Each wine is related to one of the four cantons of the coat of arms and receives a name that gives it its personality. The HISTORICAL is a tribute to the 600 years of history of the House of Outeiro, high-end elegant wines from selected plots that have spent more time in wood, developing their aromatic complexity.

In the idyllic lands of Quiroga, Lugo, there is a wine project that promises to captivate wine lovers: the Casa de Outeiro Winery. With more than 600 years of history, this fascinating winery stands out for its commitment to tradition and passion for the rehabilitation of the farm house to turn it into a winery. The wines from Bodega Casa de Outeiro are an exceptional expression of the rich diversity of native Galician grapes. First of all, their Mencia grape wines and other red varieties are truly wonderful. With a deep ruby color and a captivating fragrance, these wines evoke the passion and care that the winery team dedicates to the harvest. In the mouth, Casa de Outeiro Mencía delights with an excellent harmony between ripe fruit and spicy nuances, and its soft texture leaves a memorable aftertaste. On the other hand, the winery has also successfully opted for the white Godello grape and other native varieties. These whites are presented as the soul of Casa de Outeiro, displaying a freshness and liveliness that faithfully reflect the character of the Galician region. Its white wine, with its bright color and fruity aromas, conquers the senses from the first sip, and its subtle mineral touch leaves a lasting impression. But what makes Casa de Outeiro even more special is its rehabilitation project. The decision to convert the historic estate house, more than 600 years old, into a winery is simply fascinating. This project reflects a deep respect for the history and cultural heritage of the region, while moving into the future with a bold vision to preserve and enhance the area's wine traditions. We want to return to witness the evolution of the project. We love to see how entrepreneurial people fight to achieve their dreams.
