Castello Montesasso is a charming winery nestled in the village of Montesasso, just 2 kilometers from Mercato Saraceno. Located on the eastern slopes of the Savio Valley, this estate enjoys a unique climate influenced by the nearby Fumaiolo and Aquilone mountain ranges. The vineyards sit at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level, providing an ideal environment for grape cultivation.
The winery's vineyards are positioned along the rocky terrain of the Savio River, within the renowned Romagna Sangiovese DOC production area. Castello Montesasso is committed to organic farming, using only grapes grown on-site. With limited production, the winery emphasizes quality over quantity, ensuring that each bottle reflects the rich terroir. The winemakers pride themselves on their deep understanding of the land, meticulous grape selection, and a winemaking process that honors the local environment.
Castello Montesasso offers two distinct wines: Rapsodya and Preludyo. The Rapsodya Sangiovese Superiore, crafted from hand-harvested grapes in 2016, is aged for six months in French oak barrels and an additional six months in the bottle. Only 888 bottles of this exquisite wine were produced. The Preludyo, made from 2017 hand-harvested grapes, has a limited production of 2,500 bottles, showcasing the winery's dedication to quality and craftsmanship.

We spent an unforgettable weekend at Castello di Montesasso, with a group of friends looking for relaxation and fun. The place is simply enchanting, surrounded by greenery, perfect for an escape from the city. The castle is surrounded by numerous common areas ideal for organizing an outdoor dinner. There is a well-equipped kitchen with an outdoor barbecue corner, complete with table and benches, where we prepared and enjoyed our meals. The relaxation area with sofas is perfect for an aperitif, while a large table with benches allowed us to dine all together in a convivial atmosphere. The pool area, surrounded by greenery, was the ideal place to relax and enjoy the sun in total tranquility. The stone castle is very characteristic, with nice, clean rooms equipped with all the comforts necessary for a pleasant stay. Special thanks go to Elisa, the landlady, who was really very courteous and helpful, making us feel at ease straight away. Absolutely recommended for those looking for an oasis of peace and beauty.

Very welcoming agriturismo accommodation on the high hills of Mercato Saraceno surrounded by a vinyard and with aesthetic and nice furniture. Pool, outdoor kitchen and a very kind and smiling host that offers on top very promising wine (it is recommended to book the tasting!)
