Exquisite Wines from the Costières de Nîmes Region
History of Château Beaubois
Château Beaubois has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century when Cistercian monks from the abbey of Franquevaux recognized the exceptional terroir of this land. Today, siblings Fanny and François Boyer represent the fourth generation managing the vineyard. They are regarded as key figures in the Costières de Nîmes appellation. Since 2009, François has cultivated the 50 hectares of vineyards using Organic Agriculture (ECOCERT) practices, and in 2020, he transitioned to Biodynamics (Demeter). Fanny contributes her unique touch to the wines, ensuring high standards and a feminine perspective in each vintage.
Unique Terroir of Château Beaubois
The distinctive character of Château Beaubois wines stems from its exceptional terroir, characterized by Villafranchian gravel and a prime location. The vineyard overlooks the serene ponds of the Petite Camargue, benefiting from their cooling effects during the night and early morning, which often imparts saline and iodized notes to the wines. The southern exposure allows for ample Mediterranean warmth, significantly influencing the flavor profiles of their wines.
Grape Varieties at Château Beaubois
Situated on the southern slope of the Costières, the vineyard enjoys refreshing temperatures that help preserve the vibrant flavors of grape varieties such as Viognier, Vermentino, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc. The warm Mediterranean climate also plays a crucial role in the development of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Marselan, and Cinsault grapes, resulting in wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
